I’m major in software engineering and we have had a course for it. But I had no idea when the professor tried to explain the importance and concept of software engineering. It sounded like the bullshit. I preferred to write code in front of my desk with music on.
After graduating from university, I found a job in ERP field as a technical consultant for SAP projects. SAP provides ASAP methodology for all types of SAP projects – implementation, migration, upgrade. From developer perspective, the whole project process is that we received FDS, wrote TDS, coded as per TDS, unit test and code review. I didn’t start to think about the software engineering until a recent project.
This project isn’t based on the existing SAP business products. It aims to build a software on the top of SAP NetWeaver from scratch. In the beginning, the whole team try to use the traditional SAP implementation methodology to implement this project, but I found some issues comes out during the first phase of this project.
