Archive for the ‘LE’ Category

The sales goods must be picked from a particular storage location when delivery note is created. The goods are also issued from the storage location that is speicified in the delivery. If picking activity is carried out using the warehouse management, the storage location in the delivery note determines which warehosue is responsible for picking.

Delivery item category determines whether the item is relevant to picking activity. For example, text items are not relevant for picking and you do not need to specify a storage location. Check box ‘Relevant for pick’ controls whether the item category is relevant for picking.

Logistics Execution is the application component for executing logistics in the stricter sense. It is connected with Production Planning and Control, Materials Management, and Sales and Distribution. Logistics Execution was introduced in SAP R/3 Release 4.5A to group existing subfunctions of the executing logistics and further develop them as such.

Warehouse Management was transferred from Materials Management, and Shipping and Transportation Processing was transferred from Sales and Distribution. These organizational changes were reflected both in the application menu and in the Customizing structure. Separate items for Logistics Execution were added to both menus in Release 4.5A. Customizing for Warehouse Management was thereby completely removed from Customizing for Materials Management. Parts of the Customizing settings for Shipping and Transportation processing can be found under both Sales and Distribution and Logistics Execution. Below image illustrate how LE module connects with other modules in SAP.
