Update: September 11th, 2009

This Blog aims at recording SAP technical solutions in below areas: SAP ERP, SAP CRM, SAP SRM, SAP Portal and other SAP related areas.

The SAP newcomer always complains the SAP does not provide an entry point for all the APIs which like Java document or MSDN for microsoft development. This Blog tries to change this situation by provide a serial posts for SAP APIs. Although it is hard to build a comprehensive site in a short time, I will try my best to provide as much information as I can.

    Do you know how SAP communicates? Does SAP speak SOAP (XML) like SOA? Please advise on how the SAP services communicate. Thank you.

    @Robert Tew
    SAP provides several technologies to communicate with other systems.RFC(remote function call) is a most useful synchronize communication technology if you use ABAP or Java language.IDoc can be used for async communication.

    With the netweaver platform, the RFC also can be exposed as a web service which speaks SOAP at runtime. You can find some useful tutorials about it.
