Quality Management is a cross－application module in SAP ECC.It is based on other components.
There are a lot of words we need master before we dig into detail.

Master data for inspection planning, material specifications

QM Inspection Process
Event trigers creation of inspection lot.It can be goods receipt(MIGO),production order release and outbound delivery posting ,etc.
Inspection lot is the key document in the quality inpsecion,it records the basic information.
Sample determination determines the samples that will be inspected.(Sometimes only some of the products needs inspection, all products’ inspection is impossible).(TCODE:QA32,QE01)
Results recording and Defects recording records the results or defects for inspection lot.
Usage decision(Tcode QA11).This function helps decide how to handle this lot.
Evaluation(Evaluation of vendor,TCODE:ME61).

Glossory:
Inspection lot
It records all information about inspection.
(inspection lot origin:just the event that trigers the inspection,such like goods receipt,the original document can be material document,purchase document,order or delivery).
The sample-drawing instruction contains the necessary information for taking the sample quantity or one or more physical samples.
The inspection instruction describes the nature of the inspection and how to carry it out.
Through QA32 we can read the inspection lot.
