To every module in SAP,material master data is very important.

To QM,there are also some settings in material master data.

We take the material data R120 in SAP Best Practise Baseline package for example.

Inspection setup determines if and where the materials to be inspected.

Inspection Type——–For each inspection type we can define following

• Processing of results recording
• Sample determiantion and dynamic modifications

         dynamic modifications means,if the quality level meets the requirements,some inspection

         steps is not necessary in next step processing.

        Dynamic modification criteria are required if inspection scopes need to be

        dynamically changed.

        Typical dynamic modification criteria for a goods receipt inspection are for

        example, material and vendor. The quality level is updated for these dynamic

        modification criteria after each goods receipt inspection. The inspection scope

        is then dynamically adapted, based on the quality level.

Inspection with task list

• You inspect the inspection characteristics that are specified in an inspection plan,routing,or master recipe

Inspection with material specification

•  You inspect the inspection characteristics as defined in the material specification

Inspection by configuration

• You can include customer-specific specifications for inspection characteristics in the inspection:Configurations from the customer or production order are taken into consideration during inspection lot creation and the specifications from the task list or material specifications are adapted accordingly.The prerequisite is that a link exists between the class characteristic and the master inspection characteristic.
