Solution Manager System Landscape
Application Area – Solution Manager
Overview
The enterprise-wide system landscape can be managed in solution manager centrally. The system landscape then can be used in your implementation and template projects, to monitor change requests (Change Management), in the Customizing Synchronization (Customizing Scout, Customizing Distribution) and in operational processing (Solution Monitoring, Services, Support Desk).
The SAP Solution Manager is based on the system landscape. A correctly maintained system landscape is a prerequisite for the Solution Manager functions.
The system landscape data can be captured automatically from SLD or be maintained manually. There are several system landscape components which includes servers, databases, systems, systems components.
Configuration Detail
1. Go to Transaction SMSY (Solution Manager System Landscape).

In this transaction, we can find lots of basis information for every system, such as installation number, product version, software component versions and clients information.
2. Genterate RFC connections for satelite systems.
There are four RFC connections:
a) RFC Destination for Read Access
b) RFC Destination for Change Manager Functions
c) RFC Destination with Trusted System Connection
d) RFC Destination for Solution Manager

3. RFC connection trouble shooting
We you define the RFC connection using Trusted System method, you must make sure the current user id has enough authorization. Otherwise it will prompt an error message like ‘No authorization to logon as trusted system (Trusted RC=2)’.

The solution is that to create a new role that contains authorization ‘S_RFCACL‘ and assign the new role to your id. Please note this authorization isn’t contained in profile ‘SAP_ALL’ and ‘SAP_NEW’. Below link gives detailed steps to sovel this issue.
